Dan McColgin is a certified personal trainer (CPT), with over 33 years of diverse training experience ranging from bodybuilding, powerlifting, Olympic lifting and MMA. But his true passion and expertise is strength and conditioning for MMA fighters. Dan started training at 15 and by 19, in 1981, hed won the San Francisco Bodybuilding Championships. Throughout his 20s, McColgin focused his efforts on powerlifting, Olympic lifting and functional strength training. In 1996, Dan moved to the LA area to take a job at Golds Gym, Venice (The Mecca of Bodybuilding). It was during his time at Golds he met members of the Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Team, like Vitor Belfort, Wallid Ismail, and Ricardo Rey Diogo. Dan began training under the legendary Carlson Gracie as a competitor, while serving double duty as the strength and conditioning trainer for the team. Dan earned a purple belt under Rey Diogo. In 2000, Dan became manager and Head of Training at World Gym International Headquarters in Marina Del Rey, CA. While working for the famous Joe Gold (founder of both Golds and World Gyms), McColgin worked with top athletes, bodybuilders, actors and trainers. In 2010 McColgin relocated to Las Vegas and became the strength and conditioning coach for Wand Fight Team at Wanderlei Silvas #1 ranked MMA Gym.
