Pete was born in Atlantic City, NJ. He started martial arts at a young age earning a black belt in both American Karate and Tae Kwon Do by the age of 12. Moving to Clayton, North Carolina in high school Pete turned his focus towards wrestling where he was a four-year varsity starter and 2x State Placer at Clayton High School. During this time he competed Greco-Roman wrestling as well winning a state championship and becoming part of the North Carolina National Team. After graduating Pete went on to wrestle at Division I North Carolina State University. It was during his freshman summer that he found the sport of MMA and never looked back.
Pete started his mma training under Royce Gracie black belts: Jason Culbreth and Billy Dowey, as well as Thai training under Kru Mike Emory at Team ROC, and quickly racked up an amateur mma record of 5-1. Wanting to make MMA his career he packed up and moved to the epicenter of MMA: Las Vegas, NV
After jumping around from gym to gym Pete found his home in Las Vegas at Wand Fight Team where he is now part of the Wand Pro Team and continues his training under their many great coaches. His extensive wrestling background and his ability to adapt this to MMA has made him a sought after coach to UFC, Strikeforce, and Bellator fighters. With many years of competition and over 200 weigh-ins under his belt he is also well known for his expertise in nutrition, dieting and weight loss, particularly weight cuts for competition. Pete also runs the kids wrestling and MMA programs.
